West-China with its capitals Chengdu and Chongqing is the center for industry, trade and provision of services. Aircraft and aerospace industry is located here for example, with its associated research centers and universities.

The centers of West-China are already well developed. All the same, the Chinese government stipulated that this will be a development zone for the next 10 years with a great deal of promotion and investments.

The level of costs is only half or 1/4 compared to better known centers like Beijing and Shanghai. However, retail prices for foreign products are not affected by the cost structure.
